Job Description
The Benefits Analyst is responsible for driving Asbury’s benefits function: performing extensive plan analysis, design, and modeling for all health and welfare benefit plans. Develops proposals for new or modified employee benefits. Oversees ongoing administration of existing plans. Also responsible for all compliance-related activities (required audits and IRS filings) as well as managing all vendor relationships (examples include broker, insurance carriers, wellness, and 401k recordkeeper).
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and design benefit plans.
- Recommend benefit programs by analyzing trends, employee needs, and market comparisons.
- Prepare, review, and update benefit documentation with legal guidance.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and provide benefit program recommendations.
- Lead annual open enrollment and other benefit-related meetings.
- Maintain and configure the Benefit Administration system within HCM.
- Manage payroll deductions, benefit elections, and data accuracy.
- Coordinate plan changes with brokers and third-party administrators.
- Perform financial analyses and reconciliations for benefit plans.
- Assist with preparing materials for Retirement Plan Committee meetings.
- Address employee benefit inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Oversee benefit record retention and compliance requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related area
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and benefits administration software
- Knowledge of employee benefits plans, regulations, and compliance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and handle confidential information
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS) preferred
- Familiarity with healthcare industry trends and best practices
- Team player with the ability to work independently
