Job Summary:

This role supports the Total Rewards and Retail teams by processing commission and analyzing and enhancing various compensation programs for the retail division. Primary responsibilities include the preparation and submission of retail commission pay. Outside of payroll schedule, the role will focus on conducting data analysis for recommendations on improvements to retail compensation structures and reporting.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Collaboration with HRBPs and Payroll: Partner closely with Retail HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and the Payroll team to analyze current practices for gathering, validating, and calculating essential data for various retail commission and bonus programs that are not processed by Kronos.
  • Data Analysis for Insights: Conduct thorough data analysis on existing pay structures and employee compensation data to provide actionable recommendations for enhancing retail compensation frameworks, administration processes, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively troubleshoot and address discrepancies in compensation data in collaboration with the Compensation team, Payroll, and Retail HRBPs to ensure accurate commission payouts.
  • Commission Reporting: Generate and review monthly commission reports for the Total Rewards team and Retail Leadership, including the creation of process documentation, audit reports, and other ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Compensation Support: Field retail compensation inquiries from the HR Shared Services team, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of questions in alignment with pay plans and the company’s compensation philosophy.
  • System Improvements: Contribute to ongoing and future implementations and enhancements of POS retail reporting systems and Workday configurations that impact retail store positions, ensuring they meet compensation accuracy and reporting needs.
  • Ad Hoc Support for HRBP Team: Assist senior Compensation team members and Retail HRBPs with special requests, including managing retail monthly contests, resolving timecard administration issues affecting commission calculations, and facilitating retail annual survey participation.
  • Special Projects: Undertake special assignments as directed and provide comprehensive support for additional compensation-related processes as necessary.

SCOPE & IMPACT:   

As a key member of the Compensation Team, the candidate will prioritize tasks related to commission pay administration and data analysis to enhance retail pay practices for over 700 employees. This role has a direct impact on employee compensation and requires confidentiality and attention to detail. Additionally, as Workday evolves, the candidate will have the opportunity to influence future commission practices for the company.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or related field with 0-2 years of relevant retail experience or equivalent
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • High attention to detail
  • Curiosity to understand the story behind numbers
  • Ability to maintain confidential data and meet strict deadlines
  • Familiarity with labor laws: FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Pay Transparency etc.
  • Up to 5% travel

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Experience using HR systems – Kronos, Workday, Peoplesoft
  • Experience and knowledge with sales commission
