Job Overview

The Analyst, Compensation will provide analytic support to the Compensation team and business groups to align compensation programs with business group objectives. Key responsibilities include understanding business objectives to support existing compensation plans, creating predictive analytical models to assess the impact of changes, and summarizing market research for compensation best practices. Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Essential Functions

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute assigned compensation programs timely and accurately. 
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of compensation programs to support business needs, including commissions and incentives, salary structure analysis, salary changes, and program analysis.
  • Ability to query data within complex databases to collect data for analysis and reporting. 
  • Provide sophisticated analytic support to align compensation programs with business and HR (Human Resources) strategic objectives and to understand financial implications of pilots, test-and-learn initiatives, new programs, and policies to meet changing business/talent needs.
  • Assess, recap, and audit current compensation programs through standard and ad hoc reporting to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and support the compensation team and the business.
  • Research and resolve individual and broad compensation issues.
  • Add value to existing processes by surfacing issues and recommending meaningful improvements and enhancements.
  • Act as a liaison to assigned business group to answer questions, provide relevant information regarding compensation programs, and evaluate relevant compensation programs as requested by business partners. 
  • Provide support to other areas when needed and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree required; in a quantitative field from an accredited university preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience in an analytical environment with manipulation of large data sets preferred.
  • Prior compensation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR system (Oracle HCM), Pay Factors, Microsoft Access, and VBA preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to create presentable material to influence decision making.
  • Must have advanced mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

 

Essential Physical Requirements

  • This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computers and the office equipment. 
  • May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. 
  • Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
