The Compensation Analyst, as a member of the Compensation Center of Excellence (CoE) team, provides support to human resource and business line staff as an internal consultant/compensation subject matter expert applying quantitative knowledge and skills in a fast-paced and dynamic multi-industry environment. This role participates in the design, validation, and optimization of broad-based compensation programs that differentiate AAA Northeast as an employer of choice and provides analysis and on-going process improvement efforts associated with non executive compensation programs.

What you will do:

  • Consultation: Consults with stakeholders to ensure equitable pay decisions are being made; provides appropriate guidance and advice on compensation-related topics; ensures that requests for pay information and adjustments comply with policies (Including new hire offers, promotional increases, salary adjustments, overtime administration, etc.). Maintains and administers compensation guidelines for compensation practices. Participates in administration of annual performance management and focal merit and bonus programs.
  • Analyzes market data, creates models, and prepares recommendations and presentations to support the recalibration of salary plans, merit matrix, decompression efforts, budgeting etc. within the Club’s philosophies and policies.
  • Market Data Survey Participation: Contributes organizational data to, and analyzes results of, compensation and related economic and/or total rewards surveys. Conducts extensive market pricing compensation analysis to determine competitive pay position in the market and where additional market data may be needed. Makes recommendations on supplemental surveys needed for comprehensive market data repository. Researches and recommends change to maintain the competitiveness of existing compensation differentials; Shift / Language & Geographic.
  • Compliance & Governance: Completes the Club’s pay equity analysis; comparing pay rates within the Club and assessing any differences in pay relative to selected protected classes (ie age, race, gender) as well as job duties and responsibilities, seniority, and other relevant criteria and continues to monitor pay equity on an ongoing basis Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring compensation governance processes to ensure a common understanding of pay practices, consistency, fairness, and equity in delivering pay policies and/or guidelines. Proactively conduct regulatory wage and hour compliance audits; Prepare information and recommendations required for compliance with government regulations (DOL / BLS). Monitors compensation programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations with a focus on wage-hour federal/state/local laws, including reporting requirements.
  • Job Descriptions & Evaluations: Collaborates with HR Business Partners and management to guide the creation of new job descriptions and determine appropriate salary benchmarks and grading; edits and audits existing job descriptions for content; Evaluates jobs, determining appropriate job titling and career path development. Performs FLSA exemption tests to ensure compliance with federal and state law. Maintain audit trail; Partners with Talent Acquisition to post jobs and ensuring timely and quality delivery of job evaluations and pricings according to Club philosophy.
  • Variable Pay: Performs audits of variable pay plans and data sources to ensure accuracy, timeliness of payments and functionality of system/process. Manages issue resolution with appropriate teams as necessary. Ensures all internal audit controls are effective. Ensures variable pay plan documents are kept current and distributed to all relevant employees and modifies annually or when necessary.
  • Systems: Ensures the alignment and accuracy of compensation data between and among HRIS & Compensation systems and databases. Utilizes related systems to run and analyze periodic reporting (e.g., demographics, overtime reporting, regular rate calculations, Market Pay reporting, new hire audits, etc.) Collaborates and assists with system integrations and improvement projects as well as configuration, maintenance and administration of cloud based software solution.
  • Projects: Performs wide range of project, program, and policy maintenance duties, including conducting detailed issue and data analyses, framing recommendations and options for presentation. Develops project plans, occasionally leading project efforts, and assesses impacts and results. Contributes as a compensation subject matter expert within the Total Rewards team in cross functional HR projects.
  • Researches best fit and best practices; develop proactive approach to identify compensation issues or opportunities within customer groups/functions and develop solutions.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Preferably in Business, Economics, Finance or Human Resources required or 6-8 years of additional relevant experience required

Experience

1+ years analytical skills required and experience with Excel and experience with the configuration, maintenance and administration of SaaS preferred

Licenses and Certifications

World at Work and/or HRCI or SHRM certifications Preferred
