Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 7:30a-4pm General Business Hours

Assist with the implementation and ongoing administration of compensation programs. Conduct analyses, provide insights, and make recommendations to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices. Collaborate with HR business partners to process job evaluation and incentive program requests.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

1. Job Evaluation and Classification: Provide guidance to leaders and/or HR partners on job description content. Evaluate and classify jobs based on responsibilities, qualifications, and market trends. Ensure proper job architecture assignment and FLSA exemption status regulations are followed in classifying jobs. Ensure job descriptions accurately reflect the responsibilities and requirements of each role and format follows established standards.

2. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure the organization’s compensation practices are competitive. Participate in salary surveys and assist in analyzing market data to make informed recommendations on salary structures and adjustments.

3. Data Management and Reporting: Maintain updated compensation data in HRIS and other relevant systems. Generate or process reoccurring audit reports and analyses for HR leadership and other stakeholders.

4. Compensation Analysis and Modeling: Analyze and model compensation data to provide insights into pay trends, internal equity, and external competitiveness. Assist in the process to develop financial models to support compensation program decisions and budgeting.

5. Premium Pay Programs: Provide guidance to leaders and/or HR partners to review request submissions for administration of premium pay, incentive and bonus programs. Work closely with HR partners and evaluate the effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements. 

6. Policy Development, Governance, and Compliance: Stay informed on changes in labor laws and regulations affecting compensation. Research and provide input on the development or updating needed to compensation policies, governance, and procedures. Collaborate with team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding compensation practices. And assist team with ensuring all process documentation and departmental onboarding materials are up to date.

7. Communication and Education: Participate in the development and/or review of compensation program materials. Communicate compensation programs to employees, managers, and HR partners. Support the talent acquisition team by providing guidance and/or approvals on exception requests for employment offers based on documented governance. Consult compensation colleagues for more complex or sensitive requests.

8. Other Duties as Assigned: While essential functions are listed for this job, other responsibilities may be required and assigned at times and as determined by the leader in order to meet the needs of the organization.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in compensation, finance or related analytical role required.

  • Compensation experience to include job evaluation and market pricing analysis highly desired.

  • Compensation experience in healthcare environment preferred.

  • Experience with Workday and Payfactors preferred.

  • Experience working with job description systems preferred.

License/Certifications

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation from WorldatWork preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulations required.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to make recommendations on evaluations, requests, and projects required. Ability to document and summarize a situation, background/context, assessment of options and recommendation required.

  • MS Excel proficiency in understanding formulas, creating pivot tables, using a v-lookup, etc. required.

  • Ability to enhance proficiency by writing formulas used in data analysis and modeling required.

  • Proficient MS Word and PowerPoint required.

  • Proficiency in using compensation survey tools and market data sources required.

  • Ability to communicate and present information to a small audience required.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, handle sensitive information, and meet deadlines required.
