POSITION PURPOSE
The compensation manager is responsible for managing the compensation function at YPO. Plans, develops, and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures to align with YPO’s organizational goals and competitive practices. Conducts job analysis, evaluation, benchmarking, and maintains salary structures for 28 countries globally. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the organization’s compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
General
Manages the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.
Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and organizational objectives.
Provides advice on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure organizational compensation objectives are achieved.
Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in management reporting and proposals.
Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, and compensation policies.
Job Analysis, Evaluations, Benchmarking, and Salary Structures
Conducts job evaluations to determine appropriate benchmarking and leveling for new and existing roles.
Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales.
Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
May be involved in preparing and maintaining job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensuring descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
May interview and survey associates and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND
3+ years of progressive experience in HR required; global exposure highly preferred.
3+ years in compensation management required, global exposure highly preferred.
Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods required.
Extensive knowledge of general human resource laws, regulations, and best practices required.
Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation
Proficiency in intermediate-advanced Excel functionality such as vlookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, charts and graphs, and regression analysis.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business management, or business administration, or equivalent experience required.
Preferred certification(s): Certified Compensation Professional (CCP); Global Remuneration Professional (GRP); Professional in Human Resources (aPHR/PHR).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.
Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 5% per year.
