Performs duties in support of the Safety Program. Duties include monitoring OSHA and safety related training, facility assessments, fire and disaster drills, conducting annual audits to include Fire Drill monitoring and employee MVR’s. Responsible for NC corporate safety meetings to include scheduling, planning, minutes, plans of correction. Sets up and maintains Certificates of Insurance, OSHA summaries and logs and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) on shared drives. Manages auto and property related claims and serves as a back-up for worker’s compensations claims. Develops and disseminates auto, property, and workers comp loss trending reports. Coordinates lose control inspections, distributes reports and assures follow-up of noted deficiencies. Maintains current locations in RMIS systems and works on projects related to tracking and training for OSHA, safety and claims databases. Tracks various employee health issues and facility infestations as deemed appropriate. Assist in facility inspections and training as needed.

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include:
Four-year college degree in Human Resources or related field.

Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included:
Regularly required to lift 10 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. Must be able to pull a minimum of 10 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to talk and hear.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Management of workers compensation, auto (commercial and personal) and property claims for dedicated locations. Assist in developing and disseminating workers comp, auto and property claims data and trending reports.
  • Scheduling, planning, meeting minutes and plans of correction for all Corporate Safety Committee Meetings and/or other safety related initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains OSHA logs, summaries, BLS surveys, including the annual electronic submissions.
  • Oversees the companies Safety Data Sheets program. Monitors OSHA and Safety related trainings and safety related assessments & drills.
  • Responsible for maintenance and distribution of Certificates of Insurance to include requests for new or modified certificates.
  • Coordinates loss control inspections, distributes reports and assures follow-up of noted deficiencies.
  • Assist in establishment and maintenance of Employee MVR monitoring system.
  • Responsible for ensuring all locations in Risk Management Information System (RMIS) are current and correct.
  • Assist with projects related to tracking and training for OSHA, safety and claims databases.
  • Tracks safety related employee health and facility issues as deemed appropriate.
  • Assist in facility safety and health inspections and training as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience

  • Four year college degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 2-5 years related experience preferred
