Position Summary:
Hudson Advisors is seeking an analyst to join it U.S. Residential Credit investment platform in New York. Hudson Advisors is the dedicated asset manager and investment manager for The Lone Star Funds, which currently manages multi-billions of AUM across private equity strategies. The U.S. Residential Credit team in New York primarily focuses on the underwriting, acquisitions, and servicing of mortgage whole loans in connection with Lone Star Residential Mortgage Fund III and IV.
The candidate will be joining the Residential Whole Loan servicing group and assisting with the surveillance and performance of Lone Star’s residential whole loan portfolio. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of residential mortgage mechanics. The candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Excel and manage multiple requests and projects at once.
The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced and fluid work environment, and a variable work schedule will be expected around market-driven events. The ability to learn quickly and adapt strategies on the fly is essential to the success of the team.
Essential Functions:
- Create and maintain servicing reports to manage performance and surveillance
- Interface with multiple servicers and vendors to ensure reporting and deliverables are met in a timely manner
- Assist in creating and maintaining loan level and property level analysis and reporting
- Assist in creating and maintaining natural disaster and various servicing initiatives and campaigns
- Support the growth of the servicing and securitization portfolio
- Create slides, charts and tables for various internal meetings and investment committee presentationsCreate ad hoc reports, as requested
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of mortgages is a plus
- Strong Excel and Power Point skills a must
- Excellent project management and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
- Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
- High attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments, but with the aptitude to maintain a big picture perspectiveAbility to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree requiredBachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science preferred
Experience:
- New college graduate with less than a year’s experience preferredResidential mortgage knowledge preferred
Other Skills:
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint preferred
- Basic knowledge of PowerBI is a plusBasic knowledge of SQL is a plus
Work Environment:
- This position operates in a professional office environment
- This role generally requires long hours – 50+ hours per weekReporting to the New York office
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00
- The posted base salary is based on New York, NY. Compensation is subject to change based on experience or if hired elsewhere.
